Is your child showing interest in music, but you worry they're too young for private music lessons? Do you want to introduce your little ones to the joy of music in a fun and developmentally appropriate environment?

Sky Studios is excited to introduce Early Jammers, our first class just for kids under age 5!

In this weekly group class, little ones will gain a solid grasp of the fundamental building blocks of music through play. Each week, we’ll sing, drum and move together over the course of an action packed 30 minutes!

Using a combination of traditional folk melodies and chants, classic children’s songs and infectious dance favorites, we will explore fine and large motor skills, rhythm, singing and early note reading skills in a fun, developmentally appropriate way.

When: Every Tuesday at 10am

Cost: $30 per class

To keep class sizes small, Early Jammers is a roster class. Learn more here!

Why You'll Love Early Jammers

  • A chance for littles to explore music before they reach the minimum age for private lessons.

  • A way for children to get comfortable with various instruments and the studio environment (perfect for those who plan to start private lessons once the kids are a bit older).

  • A strict student to teacher ratio (1:9 max).

  • A proven curriculum developed and taught by a teacher who specializes in childhood and preschool music lessons.

  • Parent supervision is not required. Go enjoy 30 minutes of time for yourself while your little one jams out.

Meet Our Early Jammers Instructor, Grace Waugh.

Grace Waugh grew up the oldest middle child of 4 in a Southwest Florida home filled with instrument practice, singing, musical theater, art projects, and stories read aloud by a voiceover artist/radio DJ Dad. Her mom, a talented musician, inspired her to start taking piano lessons at age 10, and she quickly fell in love! She also always enjoyed singing, and performed with the Sarasota Youth Opera, and the local community theater company growing up. Music education was a joyful and memorable element of her childhood, and she’s so glad to be part of creating that experience for kids today!

Grace moved to Nashville in 2008 to pursue further music study and business education, and has been here ever since! She graduated from Belmont University in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in classical piano and a minor in entrepreneurship, and is a certified Music Together teacher. She is an experienced private piano teacher, and has spent time teaching early childhood and preschool music classes in Nashville since 2014. She was the music teacher at Westminster School for Young Children for 1.5 years, where she taught group music classes to roughly 200 students ages 6 months-5 years old! During her time at WSYC Grace developed her own curriculum, and had a blast exploring music with little ones! She’s also taught preschool and family classes with early childhood music program Music Together.

Pianist, singer/songwriter, music educator, and voiceover artist are a few of the hats Grace wears on the regular, and she’s so excited to join the ranks of the talented Sky Studios teacher roster! Optimistic, energetic, and passionate, Grace’s authenticity and joie de vivre shine through in her warm and engaging teaching style. Grace feels that music is one of the greatest joy producers in life, and she aspires to bring as much of it to others as possible through music education.
