Pennsylvania-native Jen Starsinic is a multi-instrumentalist and indie rock singer/songwriter. She graduated summa cum laude from Berklee College of Music in Boston with a B.A. in violin performance and songwriting. 

At Berklee, she studied violin under internationally acclaimed violinist and string educator Darol Anger and performed and taught as part of his group The Republic of Strings. Since then, she has performed nationwide and recorded with projects ranging from bluegrass to classical orchestras to rock string quartets. 

As a songwriter and guitarist, Jen has won numerous songwriting awards, including recognition from the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival, NewSong Music and the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Her debut album of original music received critical praise and lauded her as "the next great voice in folk music."  

A passionate educator, Jen has taught lessons on violin, viola, cello, mandolin, guitar, and piano since 2007. She enjoys guiding students to discover their passion and unique voice in music while also ensuring they're developing strong instrumental technique. 

Jen is also the co-founder/co-director of the Nashville-based nonprofit Girls Write Nashville, a program that provides songwriting and production mentorship to girls age 7-17. She additionally teaches songwriting and singing lessons with a focus on developing the skill and artistry of singer/songwriters. She joined Sky Studios in October 2017.
